Mr C: We’ve been on a low/no carb week this week, which has left me less depleted than I’d expected but certainly lacking in endurance capability. Food-wise I’ve actually been quite enjoying some of the meals, particularly breakfast (eggs, peppers, smoked salmon, spinach). I had a bit of a confidence hit over last weekend, but dealt with it pretty well and decided to just fight harder. As a result of a bit of a reassessment of what I need to achieve which chatting to our trainer, we decided to change my weights approach to 10-15 slow rep sets. Basically as I don’t tend to like a bulky look I intentionally haven’t built too much size, but as I lean out it’s becoming obvious that that isn’t going to be the right look for the show so I’m trying to just add some last-minute size around the shoulders and arms. Hopefully we have enough time to do that and even things out well. Generally I’m feeling quite positive though, and looking forward to next week’s reassessment and the final plan before the show.
Mrs C: This week has been quite positive, I feel leaner although I have suffered with some bloating from the amount of food on the current plan. Although its been no carbs its made up for with more meals so I have been quite full. I had a ‘moment’ during a leg session with my coach where I started crying due to the pain in my legs… the pain was bad but the feeling of fatigue is what pushed me over the edge! I am nervous about how I will look on stage but I am putting in the hours in the gym, in my posing routine and eating right so that’s as much as I can do!
