Well, the chest/shoulder injury took a couple of days to ease off, but I’m back to normal now.
I’ve really struggled for time this week; the travelling is always a challenge, but at the moment the M6 south has a lane closed for roadworks, and the queues are adding half an hour to my journey home – it’s making quite a difference! I don’t know when they finish the roadworks but it won’t be a minute too soon for me!!!
As a result of the time issues, I’ve not managed to do much to make food interesting, which is a shame, but I’ll get there.. I’ve not done too badly nutritionally speaking though.
Training has been a bit of a mixed bag really. The sessions have been quite short but I’ve been pushing the weights and hitting drop sets to try and fatigue as much as possible – sometimes it’s worked and sometimes not so much. My PT session this week didn’t go so well though; I seemed to really struggle to keep my breath, and lactic acid buildup was happening super-fast. I got quite frustrated, but definitely felt my legs for the next couple of days, so I must have pushed enough!
We have a meal out in an amazing burger joint Saturday, so I’m really looking forward to that! Other than that, next week is business as usual – plenty of training and the same food aims.
Feeling much better this week, food all going well and hitting the training hard. Punished my legs early this week and couldn’t walk properly for most of the week but no pain no gain!! Still taking weekly progress photos and I am definitely getting trimmer as the weeks go by which is uplifting. Just need to stick with it. The only downside this week has been sleep. I haven’t slept well at all for some reason… I tend to have periods of time like this and then it settles down so I am hoping its a short phase and I will be back to sleeping well soon!
I am looking forward to a cheat meal over the weekend…. but I have to earn it first so this weekend is going to be hard and heavy to compensate!!!
